ആന്‍ഡമാന്‍ നിക്കോബാര്‍ ദ്വീപിലെത്തിയ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി നരേന്ദ്ര മോദി സെല്ലുലാര്‍ ജയില്‍ സന്ദര്‍ശിച്ചു. ഇന്ത്യന്‍ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യ സമര പോരാളികളെ നാടുകടത്തി തടവില്‍ പാര്‍പ്പിച്ചിരുന്ന സെല്ലുലാര്‍ ജയിലിലെ സവര്‍ക്കറുടെ ജയില്‍ മുറി പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി സന്ദര്‍ശിക്കുകയും ആദരവ് അര്‍പ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. മോദിയുടെ ജയില്‍ സന്ദര്‍ശനം സംബന്ധിച്ച വീഡിയോ ഓള്‍ ഇന്ത്യ റേഡിയോയാണ് ട്വീറ്റ് ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നത്. സവര്‍ക്കര്‍ക്ക് മോദി ആദരവും അര്‍പ്പിച്ചു. സവര്‍ക്കര്‍ക്ക് പ്രണാമമര്‍പ്പിച്ചുള്ള ചിത്രം നരേന്ദ്ര മോദിയും ട്വീറ്റ് ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. സവര്‍ക്കറുടെ മുറിയിലെത്തിയ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി തറയിലിരുന്ന് സവര്‍ക്കറുടെ ചിത്രത്തിന് മുന്‍പില്‍ പ്രണാമമര്‍പ്പിക്കുന്നതും വീഡിയോയില്‍ കാണാം.

ഞായറാഴ്ചയാണ് ജയിലില്‍ മോദി സന്ദര്‍ശനം നടത്തിയത്. ആന്‍ഡമാന്‍ നിക്കോബാര്‍ ഔദ്യോഗിക സന്ദര്‍നം കൂടാതെ വിവിധ പദ്ധതികളുടെ ഉദ്ഘാടനത്തിനും പൊതുപരിപാടികള്‍ക്കും മോദി പങ്കെടുക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ഇതില്‍ പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട പരിപാടി 2004ല്‍ ആഞ്ഞടിച്ച സുനാമിയുടെ ഓര്‍മ്മയ്ക്കായി നിര്‍മ്മിച്ച സുനാമി സ്മാരകം സന്ദര്‍ശനമായിരുന്നു.
