രാജ്യത്ത് ഇനിമുതൽ ആയുർവേദ ഡോക്ടർമാർക്കും സർജറി നടത്താം. ചെവി, തൊണ്ട, മൂക്ക്, കണ്ണ്, എല്ലുകൾ, പല്ലുകൾ എന്നിങ്ങനെയുള്ള സർജറികൾ നടത്താനാണ് കേന്ദ്ര സർക്കാർ അനുമതി നൽകിയിരിക്കുന്നത്.

ഇന്ത്യൻ മെഡിസിൻ സെൻട്രൽ കൗൺസിൽ (പോസ്റ്റ് ഗ്രാജുവേറ്റ് ആയുർവേദ എഡ്യുക്കേഷൻ) റെഗുലേഷൻ 2016ൽ ഭേദഗതി വരുത്തിയാണ് കേന്ദ്രം ബിരുദാനന്തര ബിരുദ വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളുടെ പാഠ്യപദ്ധതിയിൽ സർജറി പഠനവും ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തുന്നത്.
