ദാസ്യപണി വിവാദം; മാധ്യമങ്ങള്‍ തെറ്റായ കണക്കുകള്‍ പുറത്തുവിട്ട് വ്യാജപ്രചാരണം നടത്തുന്നതായി ഡിജിപി

പോലീസിലെ ദാസ്യപണി വിവാദത്തില്‍ മാധ്യമങ്ങളെ വിമര്‍ശിച്ച് പോലീസ് മേധാവി ലോക്‌നാഥ് ബെഹ്‌റ. ചില മാധ്യമങ്ങള്‍ ദാസ്യപണി വിഷയവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് തെറ്റായ കണക്കുകളും വിവരങ്ങളും നിരത്തി വ്യാജപ്രചാരണം നടത്തുന്നതായി ഡിജിപി കുറ്റപ്പെടുത്തി. ഇക്കാര്യം ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടി അദ്ദേഹം സര്‍ക്കലുര്‍ പുറത്തിറക്കി. ദാസ്യപണി ഒറ്റപ്പെട്ട സംഭവമാണെന്നും കുറ്റക്കാര്‍ക്കെതിരെ കര്‍ശന നടപടികള്‍ സ്വീകരിക്കുമെന്നും ഡിജിപി തന്റെ സര്‍ക്കുലറില്‍ വ്യക്തമാക്കി. മാധ്യമങ്ങളില്‍ ദാസ്യപണി വിവാദവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് നല്‍കുന്ന പല വിവരങ്ങളും തെറ്റാണെന്നും ഇത്തരം വ്യാജ വിവരങ്ങള്‍ പുറത്തുവരുന്നത് പോലീസ് സേനയോടുള്ള ജനങ്ങളുടെ മമത കുറക്കുമെന്നും ഡിജിപി കുറ്റപ്പെടുത്തി. നിലവില്‍ ലഭിച്ച എല്ലാ ദാസ്യപണി പരാതികളും ഗൗരവമായി കണ്ട് വേണ്ടത്ര നടപടികള്‍ സ്വീകരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുകയാണെന്നും ഡിജിപി ലോക്‌നാഥ് ബെഹ്‌റ വ്യക്തമാക്കി.

In the context of certain incidents in which it was noticed that the orders and guidelines regarding the attachment of police personnel to Senior Police Officers were flouted, the Government and the Department have already initiated effective action and strict compliance of the norms will be ensured. But in the backdrop of some such incidents, a section of media has been campaigning against the Senior Police Officers on the basis of wrong facts, figures and conjectures. Most of such news appearing in the Print and Visual Media are unverified/ incorrect/ baseless/ patently false. Such news has effects of demoralising the Police leadership and reducing the trust and belief of the general population in the Police Department. Like Police, media also has an important role to play in the society. It would be in the interest of the society at large, if this section of media desists from indulging in such type of reporting. The Police leadership, on our part would like to assure you all that, we continue- to work to the best of our ability for the betterment of the people and their safety and security.
