ഇന്ത്യൻ-അമേരിക്കനായ രാഹുൽ ദുബേ തൻ്റെ വീട് 70ഓളം വരുന്ന പ്രതിഷേധക്കാർക്ക് തുറന്നു കൊടുക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. വാഷിംഗ്ടൺ ഡിസിയിൽ കർഫ്യൂ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചതിനെ തുടർന്നാണ് രാഹുൽ തൻ്റെ വീട് ഒരു രാത്രി മുഴുവൻ പ്രതിഷേധക്കാർക്കായി തുറന്നു കൊടുത്തത്. കർഫ്യൂ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ച ഇടത്ത് ഇറങ്ങി നടന്നിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ അവരെല്ലാവരും അറസ്റ്റിലാകുമായിരുന്നു. അത് ഒഴിവാക്കാനും റേസിസത്തിനെതിരായ പോരാട്ടത്തിൽ അമേരിക്കക്കാരോടൊപ്പം ചേരാനും തീരുമാനിച്ചതോടെ രാഹുൽ ഒരു ഹീറോ ആയിരിക്കുകയാണ്.

Those kids were being chased by police BEFORE curfew started & he offered them shelter from their oppressors. The police laid seige to his home thru the night. Refused to let them receive food after saying they wouldn’t, fired pepper spay into the house. Police are the rioters.
